INTRODUCTION
Clara: Welcome back to the Ex-Worker! This is our second episode on the campaign to Stop Cop City in Atlanta and defend the Weelaunee forest. As you’ve heard, urged on by their politician and corporate overlords desperate to push through this unpopular and destructive project, police in Atlanta have murdered forest defender Manuel “Tortuguita” Teran and arrested over a dozen others on bogus “domestic terrorism” charges. In our last episode, you heard a detailed history and analysis of the movement up to April 2022 - if you missed it, tune in to crimethinc.com/podcasts to get caught up. This time, we’ll share a series of anonymous first person accounts that describe the magical, bizarre, heartbreaking, and inspiring experiences folks have had participating in this struggle. We want you to have a taste of how participating in this resistance movement can change lives, open new perspectives, reveal unforeseen possibilities. But before that, we’ll start off by sharing the solidarity statement CrimethInc. has signed on to; we encourage all of you listeners out there who feel called, in groups or as individuals, to sign on too. Thanks for listening.
